MRSS Core Training Series
MRSS Core Training Series: Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Core Model (Day 1), MRSS Crisis De-escalation & Stabilization Services (Day 2), MRSS Safety Planning (Day 3)
Presented by Sarah Becker, LCSW and Amanda Gillespie, LISW-S
Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) is an essential part of Ohio’s crisis continuum of care and is a structured, community-based, in-person intervention and stabilization service for youth and families provided by certified MRSS teams. MRSS provides an effective and accessible alternative to more restrictive services for youth and families, and a hallmark of the service is that youth, families, and other referrers define the crisis. This is a three-day core training series that can be attended in any order.
Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Core Model (Day 1) focuses on the components of the model along with reviewing the values and principles of MRSS in addition to the three phases of the service.
MRSS Crisis De-escalation & Stabilization Services (Day 2) focuses on crisis de-escalation and stabilization skills and strategies that can be utilized with youth and families in both the mobile response and stabilization phases of the service while also exploring skill building interventions that engage the resiliency and protective factors of youth and families.
MRSS Safety Planning (Day 3) provides an overview of the safety planning process that includes identifying important components of an individualized safety plan and discussing skills and strategies that can be implemented during that process.
